So you fancy becoming a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Volunteer?

What will you be asked to do?  Well firstly we will provide you with some training that will enable you to understand what we do and how we do it.  From then on in it's as vast as both you and the young people's imagination can take you.

We look for people to;

  • Deliver Training
  • Provide Mentoring
  • Drive Minibuses
  • Help young people decide what to do for the 4 sections of the Award (5 at Gold Level)
  • Facilitate groups of young people to come to a consensus in the decision making phases,
  • Help with the electronic E-Doe system that records all the young peoples achievements and their record of how they did this,
  • Provide something new that you are interested in and, that may interest the young people and, then guide them through a program of training upon that subject, photography; chess; metal detecting, almost anything!!

Firstly we are all Perth & Kinross Council Registered Volunteers, we here at the Association work in partnership & we deal with new volunteers  in the first instance.

Step 3 -  If your position within your chosen group requires it, you will be put through the Protecting Vunerable Groups

                                   Once this has all been achieved you will be a fully fleged volunteer!

You may attend your chosen group prior to this being completed so long as the group leader allows this and during that time you may not work alone with thte participants. (this ensures both you and the participants are not uncecessarily left open to compromise)
